The youth have just recently came back from a seminar that was put on by Student Life, they produce our Sunday School curriculum.  The guest speaker was Dr. David Platt, who only being about 34 years old, has more than one doctorate which automatically makes me despise him (Just Joking).
Dr. Platt emphasized how important it is to memorize the Bible, because it is the true, flawless, Word of God.  Dr. PLatt mentioned how Muslims start at an early age memorizing the Koran.  In fact they memorize it in its original language and read it daily being very devoted to this book.  He then said what if we where to memorize the Bible in Hebrew for the Old Testament and then Greek for the New Testament how many people could we get to do this in our churches, sadly not many.  Yet the Muslims have thousands if not hundreds of thousands memorizing words that have no real eternal value.  They pray daily to a false god, sometimes three to four times a day.
We know the one and true Son of God and we have made our days so busy that we cannot find time as a family to devote 30 minutes to Bible study.  Dr. Platt is able to quote from memory Psalms 119 which contains 176 verses, I know you are saying to yourself, "He is gifted in that way" and yes you are right but like any muscle the more you use it the stronger it gets.
Today I read Romans 1:28 which says, "Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not be done."
I ask you does that sound like today?  How can we simplify our lives so that God can once again become our focal point?  His Word can be our daily guiding light?
I saw a bumper sticker that summed up the church today it said, "It's all about me"  I pray we can remember it is not all about us, it is all Jesus Christ!

God has blessed you, now go! Be a blessing to God!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! it is cold in here!

Hello all you Xangites!

I know it has been too long.  Yes we do need to pull Xanga up and out of the dusty, old, scrap metal heap of technology that we threw it into.  I do think that it can be revived! I think so! oh, yea I guess!  Ok, well I am not 100% sure but what they hey, lets give it a try.

Have you ever notice how when it gets cold and wet everyone cancels school, church, work.  Then you (meaning me and you) go out and tool around town only to see all those people out and about also that could not make it to school, work, and church.  Boy am I glad that we do not have police who watch where we go and then tell our bosses and school teachers.

I am home working from the house today, church has been cancelled and I now have the blessing to get ahead on a week of lessons.  The Super-Bowl Party is coming up and I am planning on the activities.  I would like some input from girls.  What does it take to get girls to come to the party, I mean beside guys!  So, let me know.

God has blessed you!  Now go!  Be a blessing to God!

Isaiah 43:18-19

Wow,

I have not written in a long time.  SO here it goes, I just finished reading an article in Time Magazine September 18th edition.  The title of the magazine was, "Does God want you to be rich?"  The passage used by the author was John 10:10 is says,"I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly."

So the author was questioning do we deserve the best of this world, and the world to come?  Does Joel Osteen, pastor of mega-church in Houston, speak the truth when he says, "I think God wants us to be prosperous. I think he wants us to be happy. I think he wants us to enjoy our lives."

I am asking all of you out there in Xanga -world, and yes I know about My-Space but some of us are just getting the hang of this bicycle so give me time to peddle before I go to the new deluxe Huffy, what do you think?  Does God want the best for his children and if so what is the best?  Does God really think you deserve a Rollex instead of a Timex?  Is a  new Hummer better for you in God's eyes than a used Suburban?  Do we really need to ponder this thought for long? I mean look at all the men of God who really followed him Peter, Paul, Philip did any of them end up on MTV's Cribs?  I am not certain but I do not remember seeing that episode where Daniel shows off the lions den.

Ok, I hear you sayin' "Ya well wada bout David and Solomon?  They had monsterous kingdoms!"  Well I encourage you to look at their lives, when they had more, they had more trouble.  I would like to leave you with this passage Matthew 8:20 says, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."  So, please let me know what you think!!!

Yes, Yes, Yes,

I know it has been a while since I last updated this little page where my most deepest inner thoughts occur! (now that I have stopped laughing uncontrollably!!!)  It has been a very great summer, although I have seen some ups and downs.

I took my oldest daughter Brienna to Houston so she could go to a mission trip in Mexico.  We took her to the airport on Wednesday the 4th of July.  Unfortunately we have not heard from her since she left.  Now this concerns me especially with the presidential election going on in Mexico that has no many up in arms.  So, I called her school, ETBU, and asked if they had been in touch with the Proph's that went along they assured me they were fine.  This made me consider all of those parents in the world who have lost their children to abduction or murder, etc.  I came home last night late after our Bible study, side note Bible study was great!, and listened to our answering machine. On it was the typical call trying to convince me to buy a satellite system which I already have for the low! Low! Low! price of you guessed it $19.95, then there was a second call.   I had to listen to it several times, you see there was no voice just noise in the back ground.  It was like some one rustling their phone in their pocket after they had accidentally bumped the send button.  In that moment I thought maybe, just maybe it was Brie trying to call us and not being able to hear our answering machine.  Was she not able to get us, had she tried to call several times before, unable to get a good connection, being located in the deepest part of Mexico?  Or was it just a wrong number, just another annoying salesperson trying to hock a better credit card rate over the phone?

Just then I realized how parents who have lost  their children because they where abducted must feel. The need to talk to your child and not being able to, the helpless feeling of knowing there is nothing you can do but waite.  Questioning is my child alright? Do they have the basic needs of life? Food? Water? Shelter?

So here is my question, If we are born into sin, John 1:12-13, and we are evil by nature and we can miss and love our children so much that it hurts when they are not in touch with us, communicating daily.  Then, how does God feel?  I mean we are made in God's image and he loved us so much that He willingly gave His only Son for us.  So, when we turn and run from him and hide our faces so we have no communication with Him, how does He feel?  Matthew 7:11 tells us that even though we are evil, we still know how to give good gifts.  taking that thought one step further, if we can miss our children, or if you do not have children think about your parents and brothers, sisters, and long for them even though we are evil how much more can God miss and long for us.  When we knowingly turn away from God how does that hurt Him? I know that he must feel a pain that for the average human would leave us without the will to go on!  His pain must be so much greater than we have ever felt.

God has blessed you, now Go! be a blessing to God!

I know, I know, It has been a while!

We have been so busy lately.  I had a opportunity recently to visit a young man in the hospital.  he had been run over by a truck at a party where he had been drinking.  I got to pray with him as he recuperated from the injuries, and they where many broken ribs, punctured lungs, etc.  I felt so sorry for him as he laid there in bed and not able to move or talk because of the ventilator tube down his throat.  He motioned for water , and I called the nurse in, and asked if I could give him a drink she said no, but he could have a small sponge dipped into ice water placed on his tongue.  I average about 128 ounces of water every day and can not imagine not being able to drink water even for a half a day.   I was reminded of the story Jesus told of the rich man and Lazareth in Luke 16:19-31.  The rich man because of his lack of care for the down and out Lazareth is sent to Hell where he is able to see Lazareth in Heaven and begs Abraham to send Lazareth down to Hell to just dip his finger in water so that his tongue may be cooled.  What agony must await those who refuse to let Christ be Lord of their lives.  Yes, they will get what they want here on earth but at what price?  What do you think Hell will be like?  How can we convey how bad it will be to those who do not know Christ?  Some one said that the great pastor Charles Spurgeon once said he would often go to the cemetery and pray that God would allow him to see Hell so he could convince people not to choose to go there.  So, I ask you have you seen Hell?  Do we know how bad it will be, it will be worse than this young man's situation because you see even in his bad condition God's presence was still around him.  In Hell there will be no light(God's presence) just total darkness.

God has blessed you, now go! be a blessing to God!
